What are the operating hours?
We are open Monday through Friday, 7am-5:30pm
What ages do you serve?
We are licensed to serve children ages 1-5 in our primary program. We are also licensed to provide school-aged care for children ages 5-12.
What types of programs do you offer?
Ages 1-5 (up to kindergarten): We offer a variety of full time, part time, and half day preschool programs. We have the ability to create flexible schedules that can meet the needs of most families. All of our students attend a preschool-style program which operates between 9am-3pm. We also offer before care (7am-9am) and/or after care (3pm-5:30pm).
Ages 5-12 (kindergarten-5th grade): We offer before and/or after care for school aged children. We also offer drop-in care for most Appoquinimink School District Professional Learning days and/or school breaks/closures. Please contact us for the drop-in schedule.
What does a typical preschool day consist of?
Our days are exciting and filled with fun! Our days consist of circle time, story time, centers (dramatic play, building and blocks, manipulatives, sensory/science, art, etc.), morning snack, outdoor play (large outdoor playground) or indoor active play (if weather does not allow outdoor play), lunch, afternoon snack, whole group activities, and much more!
Do you use a parent communication system?
Yes! We utilize Procare for our parent communication system. You will receive updates throughout your child's day, including special activities, pictures and videos, notes from your child's teacher, updates about potty training, and any other relevant information! There is a messaging feature for families to contact the classroom staff, the office administrator, or both!
Do you follow the Appoquinimink School District calendar?
Yes - we currently follow the Appoquinimink District calendar - for the most part. We are currently closed the same days for Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer. We are also closed for students for Parent Teacher Conferences, following Appoquinimink's closures (November, March, and June). We are actively working on a schedule to provide care during those breaks and summer. Stay tuned!
Do you provide meals and snacks?
We currently do not provide meals and snacks. This is something we are actively persuing. However, families are currently responsible for packing meals and snacks for their child each day. However, we are able to refrigerate, freeze, and microwave meals/snacks.
Is your staff background checked?
Yes! All staff members are required to be background checked and fingerprinted in Delaware, as well as any other states that they have resided in during the last five years. We conduct many reference checks and in-person interviews to ensure that the staff member is a good fit for our center.
